LR Offers MLC 2006 Training Course

Lloyd’s Register (LR) if offering a two-day training MCL 2006 course in Houston, Nov. 13 – 14.

According to LR, the two-day course is of value to everyone whose duties involve matters of safety, maintenance and quality and for the operations of ships, as well as other marine industry stakeholders. Attendees would be ship managers, personnel/crew managers, technical superintendents, designated persons, masters and ships’ officers. This course would also provide a good grounding for Flag State surveyors and independent surveyors.

LR said the course is highly participative and includes discussions and group exercises. The course will cover the Convention’s content and implementation onboard. There will be guidance on the conduct of a review of the DMLC in relation to the Convention. The preparation for and undertaking of an inspection is covered and the course includes an introduction into handling seafarers’ complaints.
