Pertamina Positions Fuel Barge in Bali

Pertamina, the state-owned fuel refining and distribution company in Indonesia, has announced that it has positioned a bunker barge in Bali to supply cruise vessels calling in Bali, Lombok and the other regions of the Nusa Tenggera archipelago.

Delivery of MGO will also continue to be available via pipeline in Benoa on the East Berth as well as on the South Bertt.

The barge is based close to the Tanah Ampo cruise terminal.

According to Pertamina, the barge will primarily supply cruise ships calling in Bali and Nusa Tenggara regions.

With the present cruise traffic not being sufficient for full-time operation, the barge will also be used for delivering fuel products to the islands situated in the Nusa Tenggara region.

Cruise ships need to give a minimum of five-working days’ notice for fuel deliveries.

Since 2011 Pertamina has been working to develop its bunkering activities to serve the cruise ships calling in Indonesia, while also providing bunkering services in Australia.

The Duta Selata barge carries 1,200 cubic meters of fuel of which 400 cubic meters are dedicated to MGO and 800 cubic meters to fuel oil.
