The Tampa Port Authority (TPA) announces today’s port call of P&O Cruises’ M/V Artemis to the Port of Tampa’s Cruise Terminal 3. With 1,100 passengers, the ship is the line’s smallest, but her resulting navigability offers passengers an intriguing array of adventurous destinations that range from the Amazon rain forests to the icy waters of Norway and Iceland. Such destinations, an upscale appeal and the ship’s child-free status appeal to seasoned travelers. Built in 1984, M/V Artemis has a GRT of 44,588 tons and LOA of 757 feet. The ship is based in Southampton and caters to the British cruise market. Passengers of the recently refitted ship are experiencing the area’s sites and activities, such as Busch Gardens, taking tours of Tampa, and some visiting local Gulf beaches. The Artemis will depart Tampa this evening at 6 p.m., headed for New Orleans. The ship’s agent services are provided by NOLA Port Agents. “We are very pleased to have the cruise ship Artemis visiting Tampa today and that her passengers are taking advantage of the sites and activities that are unique to Tampa Bay,” said Richard Wainio, Tampa’s port director and chief executive. |
