Royal Caribbean Announces Reorganization of Sales Team

Royal Caribbean International recently announced a reorganization of its sales team and the promotion of executives in a move to better serve its growing network of travel partners.

Ken Muskat has been appointed vice president, Sales, Royal Caribbean International. In his new role, he is responsible for consolidating the cruise line’s distribution strategy and overseeing various teams, including the field sales organization throughout the U.S. and Canada; inside sales; special events; and sales communications. Muskat has been with the company since 1995 and most recently served as regional vice president, Sales. Prior to that, he worked in Royal Caribbean’s marketing organization as part of the team that launched the highly successful “Get Out There” brand campaign.

Magnus Wrahme has been promoted to associate vice president, National Accounts and International Sales, Royal Caribbean International. Wrahme will manage the cruise line’s national accounts and direct the global distribution strategy playing a key role in the globalization of the brand. Most recently, he held the position of regional director, Sales, Southern Europe, for the company based in the United Kingdom and has been with Royal Caribbean since 1998. Reporting to Wrahme will be Angela Stephen who has been promoted to director, National Accounts. Stephen has held various sales positions since she joined the company nine years ago as district sales manager based in Indiana. In her most recent role as manager, National Accounts, she managed accounts including AAA and American Express Travel which awarded the cruise line, Partner of the Year for 2007. Also reporting to Wrahme is Patricia Lum, customer business development manager, National Accounts; Kevin McGlinn, customer business development manager, National Online Sales; and Theresa Scalzitti, customer business development manager, National Network Sales responsible for home-based accounts.

Also as part of the sales reorganization, Juan Silva has been promoted to director, E-Distribution Strategy and Development. Silva has been with Royal Caribbean for 17 years holding various positions in the marketing automation department. He was responsible for developing new electronic booking tools for the cruise line as well as its award-winning dedicated travel agent website, CruisingPower.com. More recently, Silva developed the website’s industry-leading eTools for travel agents such as VIP CruisePass, e-Connect and the Travel Agent Locator. He is currently leading the launch of CruiseMatch, the cruise line’s new cruise booking engine. All executives are based in the cruise line’s headquarters in Miami, Fla.
