MSC Cruises USA Names Director, National Accounts

MSC Cruises (USA) has appointed Nicola Iannone as Director, National Accounts, further strengthening the North American sales team of the rapidly growing cruise line. Based at the company’s Fort Lauderdale headquarters, Iannone will be responsible for developing strong business relationships between MSC Cruises and major travel retailers, consortia and tour operators throughout North America.

“With the MSC Orchestra coming to the U.S. for the 2008-2009 Caribbean season and four more new ships slated to join the fleet over the next three years, MSC Cruises is continuing its unprecedented growth as a major force in the cruise marketplace,” said Richard E. Sasso, president and CEO of MSC Cruises USA. “Nicola Iannone possesses strong travel industry experience and understands the European qualities that distinguish MSC Cruises, and we are looking forward to working with him to make the most of the opportunities that growth will create in the years ahead.”

Nicola Iannone began his travel industry career more than 17 years ago at Waterfront Travel in Boston. Since then, he has amassed front-line and management experience in the retail, tour operator, airline and cruise line segments of the travel business, most recently as director of key accounts and new business development for Uniworld Grand River Cruises.
