Royal Caribbean Reducing South America Capacity

The Splendour of the Seas in Brazil. (photo: Daniel Capella)Royal Caribbean International is set to just have one ship in South America for winter 2012/2013 at press time, according to deployment from the Miami-based cruise line. The 2,074-passenger Splendour of the Seas will sail next winter from Santos on a variety of itineraries.

The recently refurbished ship is sailing in Brazil this winter along with the Vision of the Seas, which will not return to the region, but instead sail next winter on 10- and 11-day voyages from Port Everglades.

While the Vision had deployment outside of Brazil next winter announced, it was rumored Royal Caribbean would send in more tonnage, but that appears not to be the case.
