Princess Ending Cruise Early Due to Gastrointestinal Outbreak

The Crown Princess will return to Fort Lauderdale early to undergo a two-day sanitization following a gastrointestinal illness outbreak.

According to reports, 114 passengers and 59 crew members became ill during the voyage, on top of an outbreak that happened on the previous sailing. The Crown Princess was sanitized thoroughly followed the last cruise, the process overseen by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, leading to a late departure from Port Everglades.

Princess said there were 3,078 guests onboard, of which all will get full refunds and help getting early flights home, in addition to a 25 percent future cruise credit.
