Regent Seven Seas Cruises Announces Three Internal Vice Presidential Appointments

Leading luxury cruise line Regent Seven Seas Cruises recently announced three internal vice presidential appointments at its corporate headquarters here. Michael Pawlus has been named vice president, itinerary and product planning; Alex Sharpe has been promoted to the position of vice president, destination and revenue management; and Andre Nordseth has been promoted to the position of vice president, cruise hotel operations.

Formerly vice president, product planning and revenue management, in his new role as vice president, itinerary and product planning, Mr. Pawlus will oversee itinerary development and long-range vessel positioning, based on consumer and competitive insights. This newly created role will leverage research and customer insights to assess demand and quantify market share as Regent Seven Seas seeks to strengthen its leadership position in offering the industry’s most innovative itineraries. Mr. Pawlus will build demand and capacity models for each of Regent Seven Seas’ destinations, both current and future, and will report directly to Ken Watson, executive vice president, marketing and sales. Mr. Pawlus is a 20-year veteran of the cruise industry, having held senior executive positions at Uniworld, American Classic Voyages, NCL, Kloster Cruise Limited and Royal Viking Line. He holds an MBA degree from Texas A & M University and completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan.

Formerly director of product management, in his new role as vice president, destination and revenue management, Alex Sharpe will oversee the line’s destination management team, strategic pricing, revenue management as well as air contracting and negotiating. He will also oversee the development of strategic and tactical promotions for each of Regent Seven Seas’ itineraries, and continue to supervise consumer sales efforts and onboard sales, also reporting to Ken Watson. Mr. Sharpe has been with Regent Seven Seas Cruises for 10 years, initially working in the charter and incentives department and later holding positions as director of revenue development, director of sales development and product director for the Radisson Diamond, Seven Seas Navigator and Explorer II vessels. He holds a degree from Florida State University.

Formerly senior director, hotel operations, as vice president, cruise hotel operations, Andre Nordseth will oversee all onboard ship operations, product quality control, shore excursions and land programs. He will report to Christian Sauleau, executive vice president, operations. He has been with Regent Seven Seas for eight years, holding different positions within the operations department. His first position with Regent was as operations manager for the Paul Gauguin. Prior to Regent he worked for Blue Lagoon Cruises in the South Pacific for three years as director of operations. Previously, he worked for Kloster Cruises Ltd. for four years, primarily for NCL onboard as hotel director and food and beverage manager and serving one year in the corporate office as manager, training and crew development. Mr. Nordseth holds an apprenti chef degree, and master of sciences degree from Florida International University.
