More on Happy Cruises

The Gemini in the Azores (photo: Andre Moura)Happy Cruises executives are looking for solutions to continue operating the three-ship fleet, according to a source familiar with the situation. However, it is said the company is seeking a cash infusion to keep going. Over the weekend Happy Cruises ceased operations, leaving customers and travel agents in limbo.

The website for the line has been down for the past few days, and reports from Spain say that the line is trying to renegotiate charter contracts with International Shipping Partners (ISP) for the Ocean Pearl and Gemini, and Restise Management for the Happy Dolphin.

ISP had “no comments” but did tell Cruise Industry News they are “in communication (with Happy Cruises).”

More reports added that the company is also trying to negotiate debt deals with suppliers.
