TUI China Awarded Outbound License

After waiting for eight years, TUI China has been granted an outbound license by the national tourism authorities. This enables the company, as one of just three foreign companies, to offer holidays abroad to Chinese holidaymakers.

Marcel Schneider, CEO of TUI China: “We are proud and feel honored to be one of the few chosen companies. We will do everything in our power to support the positive development of the Chinese tourism industry.”

The joint venture between TUI AG and the China Travel Service was established in 2003. Since then TUI China has been focusing mainly on the internal Chinese tourism market and at the same time operating as an incoming agency. This outbound lisence will allow TUI China to serve the whole Chinese tourism market.

“This development in China represents one of the most important steps on the way to making TUI a truly global tourism brand,“ explained Stephan Krings of Group Marketing TUI Travel.
