Costa Cruises will broadcast live coverage of the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton on Friday, April 29.  The British Royal Family’s biggest event in decades will be shown on board all 14 Costa ships currently in service.

The Italian Company has secured the broadcasting rights from BBC-World News and will be providing full coverage of this highly anticipated global media event, thus offering its Guests another exclusive service combined with a day of festivities and surprises.

Extensive coverage of the ceremony live from Westminster Abbey will be broadcast on the in-cabin TV entertainment system in every cabin as well as on the big screens in the theatres and on the lido decks of Costa’s fleet, with 13 ships on Mediterranean cruises and one in Asia.  All of Her Majesty’s subjects traveling on board will have reserved seating with a giant screen front-row view as the future Princess walks down the aisle.

Costa’s tribute to what is being billed as “the wedding of the century” does not end with the broadcast live from London; the day on board will be marked by a series of royal wedding-themed events in impeccable “British” style.  At 10.00 am Greenwich Mean Time on all 14 Costa ships the chimes of Big Ben will announce the start of the celebrations and the surprises for all the Guests – these will include a royal wedding trivia quiz; Royal Bingo; live music; a Royal Street Party on the outside decks; a “food corner” with classic offerings like fish & chips; and a special Royal cocktail.  The fun and revelry is set to end in grand style:  Costa Guests will be served a themed cake in honor of William and Kate.
