Norwegian Dream Heading to Asia?

The Dream was originally launched as the Dreamward (pictured above), later being lengthened and renamed the Norwegian Dream.Following being tied up in Greece due to legal matters (as reported by CIN – click here) – Star Cruises’ Norwegian Dream appears to be on the move.

According to sources, the ship has made several trips for inspection to various parts of the Mediterranean recently, including Kusadasi. However, the ship has usually been laid up at Neorion Syros Shipyards in Greece.

The ship, which has been out of service since 2008, has not found a buyer yet, but is currently sailing in the Gulf of Aden, according to IMO tracking.

The current plot is the farthest the ship has moved since being withdrawn from the Norwegian fleet.

The Dream recently sailed from Syros, calling in Port Said, Egypt, and could be heading to Asia, where Genting HK (Star Cruises’ parent company) is based.
