Ocean Star Cancels Sailings Following Fire

Ocean Star Cruises has cancelled two sailings of the Ocean Star Pacific following a fire on April 16 during the second ever cruise for the line.

As reported by Cruise Industry News, 500+ passengers were evacuated to shore, as the ship was just a few miles off the coast of Huatulco.

The ship was sailing at well under full occupancy (1,050 passengers) at the time of the generator fire, which according to reports, was brought under control.

The ship is currently (April 17) under tow by vessels owned by Pemex, the Mexican state oil company.
