Ecstasy Skips New Orleans for Port Canaveral?

Port Canaveral claims that Carnival Cruise Lines will move the Ecstasy to Port Canaveral from Galveston this November instead of to New Orleans as previously announced, according to Florida Today.

Carnival has not commented, but has previously said to Cruise Industry News that the Conquest will be moving from Galveston to New Orleans, replacing the Triumph, which is moving from New Orleans to Galveston. In addition, the Texas port will also get the new Carnival Magic.

According to Carnival, the move allows the brand to put bigger and better hardware in Galveston. But plans to return to pre-Katrina capacity levels in New Orleans seem to have been postponed.
