Holland America Promotes Ranade to Director, Tech. Purchasing and Logistics

Holland America Line has promoted Nick Ranade to the position of director, technical purchasing and logistics. He reports to Rob Boksem, vice president, technical operations, for Holland America Line.

Ranade was appointed deputy director of technical procurement in April 2010. He joined the company as a staff accountant in 2000 and has held several management positions within the company. He was moved to manager, technical procurement, in 2007.

“Nick has continuously demonstrated that by challenging processes and being willing to get out ahead of the curve, we can dramatically improve the way we procure parts for our ships,” said Boksem. “In this new position, Nick will add freight and logistics to his purchasing responsibilities, and will be integrally involved with our purchasing and shipboard inventory operations and management system.”

Ranade has 12 years of management experience in international marine operations, and his background includes finance, marine operations planning, dry-dock management and procurement.

Sunne Kim, who oversees the freight and logistics department, will now report to Ranade.
