LR Offers Course in Sustainability and Shipping

Lloyd’s Register (LR) is offering a training course in sustainability and shipping – corporate social responsibility for the marine industry, by its environmental advisor, Dr. Anne Marie Warris. The one-day course is offered on Nov. 11, 2010, at LR’s Plantation, Florida facilities.

Key topics will be what Dr. Warris calls the three pillars of sustainability, plus the drivers and benefits; a five-step approach to implementation; ISO 2600 as a model for sustainable management; the possibility of mandatory sustainability reporting; and the specific challenges to the marine sector.
