CruiseOne & Cruises Inc., the nation's leading cruise travel retail network, today announced the appointment of Luis Zuniga as vice president of marketing. Based at the companies' joint headquarters in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Zuniga will be responsible for developing and managing corporate marketing initiatives, as well as overseeing the marketing programs of more than 1,100 franchise owners and independent contractors.

“After an exhaustive search of hundreds of candidates, I am thrilled Luis will be joining our team,” said Dwain Wall, senior vice president and general manager of CruiseOne & Cruises Inc. “Luis brings an impressive background with him, including experience developing marketing programs for major national and international corporations.  His unique perspective and vision will help evolve our strategic marketing initiatives, taking both our brand and our network of agents to the next level.”

Zuniga comes to CruiseOne & Cruises Inc. from the Burger King Corporation in Miami, Fla., where he held the position of senior marketing manager for Latin America and the Caribbean. During this time, he oversaw the launch of more than 20 new products and managed 16 targeted demographic marketing initiatives.

Previously, Zuniga served in several other positions at the Burger King Corporation, including senior marketing manager for North America, where he led product innovation and strategic marketing initiatives for 8,000 restaurants.  In that position, he collaborated with major national supplier partners including Tyson and Coca-Cola. As senior analyst, business development, Zuniga focused specifically on the company’s franchise division. There, he crafted marketing programs and business solutions for the company’s international network of franchisees.  

Prior to joining the Burger King Corporation, Zuniga built and sold his own franchise company, where over the course of five years, he grew his revenue by 15% annually. 

Zuniga is a graduate of the University of Virginia, where he received his Masters in Business Administration from the Darden Graduate School of Business Administration.  He holds an undergraduate degree from Duke University.
