Crystal Names Philip Ordever VP – International Sales and Marketing

Effective May 24, UK-based leisure travel industry veteran Philip Ordever is returning to Crystal Cruises in the newly created position of vice president, international sales & marketing.  Ordever was a key member of Crystal’s international sales team from 2003-2009 prior to leaving to pursue other opportunities.  With a continued passion for the Crystal experience, he is returning in an expanded role overseeing the international sales department.  In addition, he will be directly responsible for the sales & marketing activities for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

“As we are continuing to direct resources toward international growth, we are delighted to welcome Philip back and have him oversee the expansion of our existing markets and develop new ones,” says Bill Smith, Crystal Cruises’ senior vice president, sales & marketing.  “Crystal Cruises remains very committed to the international markets and Philip has the experience and understanding of the multinational nuances necessary to do business globally.”

Given the potential and expansion of emerging markets, such as Brazil and travel agent growth in Latin America, Los Angeles-based Karen Mann, director of international sales, will focus on growth in South America, Mexico, Caribbean & Bermuda.  Based in Taiwan, Wendy Lin, regional sales manager, Asia Pacific, will continue to focus on Asia Pacific, including Australia.  Tina Shaw, based in Los Angeles, will continue to assist international sales as coordinator, international sales.

Ordever’s impressive career in the leisure travel industry spans almost 30 years.  Prior to joining Crystal Cruises in 2003, Ordever served as vice president, passenger logistics and general manager, UK for Silversea Cruises and held positions with a number of leading tour companies in England, including First Choice Holidays Plc and International Leisure Group.

Considered the pinnacle of the ultra-luxury cruise market worldwide, the Crystal Experience is distinguished by superb service, abundant space, unparalleled quality, and array of choices.  The line’s award-winning ships, Crystal Symphony and Crystal Serenity, travel the globe on cruises of seven to 100+ days.
