Celebrity Chefs Set to Host Silversea Culinary Arts Voyages

Some of the world’s most celebrated chefs and rising stars are set to host Silversea Culinary Arts voyages in the coming months. These unique culinary theme cruises showcase the artistry of award-winning chefs of top dining establishments from around the world, including the internationally acclaimed chefs of Relais & Châteaux, the distinguished international association of charming properties and finest restaurants.

And several of these famed chefs will soon team up to host one extraordinary sailing: Silver Whisper’s “World of Relais & Châteaux,” Voyage 4014, sailing May 31 to June 12, 2010, Nice to Southampton. Over twelve days, these five Relais & Châteaux chefs will take part in a culinary festival at sea celebrating New World cuisine:

Jonathan Cartwright, White Barn Inn (Kennebunkport, Maine, U.S.A.)
Anne Desjardins, L’Eau à La Bouche (Ste-Adèle, Québec, Canada)
Jacques Thorel, Auberge Bretonne (La Roche-Bernard, Britanny, France)
Mathew Macartney, Chateau Yering (Melbourne, Australia)
Jimmy McIntyr, Otahuna Lodge (Christchurch, Canterbury, New Zealand)

A second “World of Relais & Châteaux” cruise, highlighting Old World cuisine, is scheduled for Silver Spirit’s Voyage 5032, sailing September 25 to October 2, 2010, Lisbon to Nice. Its roster of master chefs is still being finalized.

“Our Culinary Arts voyages are enriching lifestyle experiences offering a great way to travel and learn,” said Rudi Scholdis, Silversea’s director of culinary development. “Because we’re able to bring together so many stellar chefs through our exclusive partnership with Relais & Châteaux, these theme cruises continue to grow in popularity with our guests.”

On the Culinary Arts enrichment voyages, celebrity chefs will display their exceptional talents during dynamic and informative cooking demonstrations where guests can taste and learn firsthand the secrets of enticing signature dishes. These voyages also feature escorted provisioning trips to international markets (when the itinerary permits), food and wine pairings, creative regional dishes, and a five-course grand gourmet dinner. Throughout these special sailings, the featured guest chef and Silversea’s executive chef are on hand to share their culinary expertise and answer any questions.

Following is a list of chefs tapped to host Culinary Arts voyages:
