Oceania Unveils Itineraries for Marina

Oceania Cruises began accepting reservations for its new flagship, the Marina, on Jan. 13. The Marina sets sail Jan. 22, 2011. Priority reservations opened first for Oceania Club members, which is comprised of past guests. Reservations will open to the general public on Jan. 18.

The 1,258-guest Marina is destined to set new industry standards for her elegant and spacious accommodations and 10 dining venues, which include six restaurants. Rich woods, marble and granite, fine wool carpets and lustrous leathers adorn public rooms, according to a prepared statement from the cruise line. Facilities also include bars and lounges, a full-service Canyon Ranch SpaClub and fitness center, a Bon Appétit Culinary Center, a swimming pool and hot tubs.

The maiden voyage is a 13-day transatlantic cruise from Barcelona to Miami, departing Jan. 22. The itinerary calls at Malaga, Casablanca and the Canary Islands before crossing the Atlantic. Early booking fares start at $1,999 per person, double occupancy.

From Miami, the Marina will transit the Panama Canal – departing Feb. 8 – visiting Cartagena and Puntarenas, Costa Rica. The ship includes two ports in Mexico: Puerto Chiapas, the gateway to Mayan ruins, and Cabo San Lucas, before calling at Los Angeles and San Francisco. The 18-day cruise is priced from $4,299 per person, double.

The ship returns to Miami with a never-before-offered Panama Canal itinerary, departing Feb. 26. The voyage departs San Francisco, cruising California’s Pacific coast, calling at San Diego, another maiden port for Oceania. Other calls include Puerto Chiapas before transiting the Canal, Cartagena and Grand Cayman. The cruise concludes in Miami. Early booking fares begin at $2,499 per person, double.

Next, the Marina will embark March 16 on a 12-day Caribbean cruise for the British Virgin Islands, calling at St. Barts, Dominica, St. Lucia and Grand Turk. Early booking fares begin at $2,999 per person, double.

Before the Marina returns to Barcelona to begin her summer season she will sail along the U.S. Eastern Seaboard, departing Miami on March 28 and visit Savannah, Charleston and New York City. She will then start her crossing, calling in Bermuda, followed by five sea days and stops in Funchal, Portugal and Barcelona. Early booking fares begin at $2,999 per person, double.
