Royal Caribbean partnered with Life Fitness to outfit the Oasis’ 11,400 square-foot fitness center for passengers and 2,600 square-foot fitness center for crew with the most dependable and aesthetically pleasing exercise machines in the world.

With a maximum capacity of 5,400 passengers and 2,100 crew members, the Oasis’ exercise equipment would have to accommodate a variety of exercisers’ ages and abilities, and heavy usage.

“Fitness is becoming an integral part of the cruise experience, so we needed to build a facility that would impress our guests,” said Joe Schlipman, director, onboard revenue, Royal Caribbean International. “Life Fitness offered products that were durable, fit for heavy usage and innovative. With their support, we selected state-of-the-art Elevation Series Treadmills, Elliptical Cross-Trainers and Lifecycle Exercise Bikes, elliptical cross-trainers and Lifecycle exercise bikes, exactly the type of high-end, durable, fitness equipment our guests expect from us.”

Royal Caribbean installed 30 Life Fitness Elevation Series Treadmills, 18 Elliptical Cross-Trainers and 11 Lifecycle Exercise Bikes in the Oasis of the Seas’ passenger fitness center.

The equipment features many industry firsts, such as touch-screen technology, iPod connectivity, an on-console Virtual Trainer and Nike+ iPod compatibility, enabling users to make their workout more engaging and matching the extraordinary features of the ship.
