Carnival Cruise Lines and the Port of Mobile held a reception aboard the 2,056-passenger Carnival Fantasy this weekend to commemorate the ship’s new four-, five- and seven-day cruise schedule from Mobile.

The 70,000-ton Carnival Fantasy represents a capacity increase of 42 percent over the Holiday which inaugurated service from Mobile in 2004.

The shipboard festivities included a traditional maritime plaque exchange between Carnival and city and port officials.
