Travelzoo has announced that the global Internet company now has more than 18 million subscribers to its weekly Top 20 Newsletter, including more than 11 million in the U.S. and 1 million in Canada.

“The popularity of our Top 20® newsletter has continued to grow as consumers are feeling optimistic about the economy and searching for great travel deals, now more than ever,” said Holger Bartel, CEO of Travelzoo. “We’re particularly excited about our accelerated growth in the U.S., as we have added half a million new American subscribers in the past two months alone.”

The Canadian newsletter has seen a 43 percent increase in the past year, equal to 300,000 new subscribers.

In Europe, Travelzoo Spain has seen a jump in subscribers, with a 172 percent increase since the beginning of the year. Travelzoo U.K. has surpassed 1.5 million subscribers, growing by 38 percent since January. France and Germany have also attracted more fans, with growth rates of 25 percent and 62 percent, respectively. Travelzoo’s European division publishes its weekly Top 20 newsletter and Newsflash e-mail alerts to subscribers in the U.K., Germany, France and Spain.

In Asia Pacific, subscribers to the Top 20 in Japan have jumped to 600,000, a 116 percent increase over the past nine months.
