Hamburg Cruise Center Reaches 100,000 Mark

The Port of Hamburg welcomed its 100,000th cruise passenger of the 2009 season on Sept. 5. The passenger was formally welcomed by Gerd Drossel, the Hamburg Cruise Center Managing Director and. received a hotel voucher from the four-star Mövenpick Hotel.

Just before setting foot on the gangway, Christina Juergens, 22 years old, was surprised by a rain of balloons.

Annette Hammer, manager of the Mövenpick in Hamburg congratulating the Juergens in person and handed over a voucher for two nights in the Turm suite, including breakfast, a four course dinner with wine and use of the fitness and sauna facilities.

The Hamburg Tourism Board donated two Hamburg CARDs – tickets offering free travel on public transportation as well as many discounts for museums and guided tours of the city and the port.
