Small-ship specialist The Yachts of Seabourn has swept three of the travel industry’s most significant and high-profile awards, winning accolades from readers of Travel + Leisure and Condé Nast Traveler, as well as from the knowledgeable advisors of the Virtuoso luxury travel network. The brand was recognized for extraordinary levels of personalized service, sumptuous accommodations in spacious suites, exceptional shoreside experiences and award-winning cuisine.

The momentous year has resulted in travel awards for Seabourn from the following:

* In July 2009, Seabourn was recognized as the 2009 World’s Best Small-Ship Cruise Line by readers of Travel + Leisure in the magazine’s 14th annual World’s Best Readers’ Survey.

* In October 2008, Seabourn was named the world’s #1 Small Ship Cruise Line by readers of Condé Nast Traveler in the magazine’s 21st annual Readers’ Choice Awards.

* In August 2008, Seabourn was honored as the Best Small Ship Cruise Line by Virtuoso in the luxury travel network’s 2008 Virtuoso Performance Awards. Virtuoso is an invitation-only organization made up of over 300 travel agencies with more than 6,000 elite travel advisors around the world.

“It is extremely gratifying to have received so many wonderful honors over the past year,” said Pamela Conover, President and CEO of Seabourn, “especially since these votes come from our guests and their travel agents, which means they directly reflect the extraordinary experience that our outstanding crew consistently delivers on board.”

These awards were presented to The Yachts of Seabourn during a year when Seabourn was also focused on launching Seabourn Odyssey, the industry’s first new ultra-luxury ship in six years. The first of three new Seabourn yachts to be launched in successive years, Odyssey debuted in June 2009 and has already been lauded as “a game-changer” in the luxury segment of the cruise industry. Seabourn’s second new yacht, Sojourn debuts in June 2010.
