Sonesta’s Newest Nile Offering – the Sonesta Dahabeya

Sonesta Dahabeya is the latest addition to the Sonesta Nile Cruises portfolio. As a member of the Sonesta fleet of deluxe-service Nile cruisers, this small cruiser combines comfort and beauty, promising a remarkable and rewarding cruise experience like no other on the Nile, according to a press release.

The Sonesta Dahabeya is intended to take passeners back in time to a gentler, more gracious era on the Nile during the seven-day cruise between Luxor and Aswan. This elegant sailing vessel was common during the days of the monarchy (1920’s through the 40’s) when aristocrats and sophisticated travelers cruised the Nile in style. Those elegant days have been revived with modern comforts and conveniences. Facilities include six cabins and two suites, open air oriental-style Jacuzzi, spacious sundeck and stylish common lounge. The suites each offer a private terrace and all cabins and suites feature private direct-dial telephones, individual climate control, hairdryers, mini-bar, safe deposit boxes, plasma televisions and movie channels.

The Sonesta Collection operates a fleet of six ships on the Nile River in Egypt, in addition to five hotels and resorts in the region. Daily guided excursions from the ships visit the historic sites of mysterious, ancient Egypt including the Temple of Philae, Komombo, Hatshepsut, Colossi of Memnon, Karnak and Luxor temples. In Aswan guests may also enjoy a traditional felucca journey around Kitchener’s Island and the Agha Khan Mausoleum. Sonesta’s fleet of Nile River cruise ships offer three-, four-, six- and seven-day trips between Aswan and Luxor.

The Sonesta Collection also includes properities in Boston, New Orleans, Miami, St. Maarten (2), Brazil (2), Chile (2), Colombia, Peru (6), and Egypt (12). Opening soon in: Cusco, Peru; Calama, Chile; Jaco Beach, Costa Rica; Miami, FL; and San Carlos, Mexico.
