Royal Caribbean’s Online Radio Show Launches Hairspray Moment Contest

In honor of Hairspray, the Tony award-winning Broadway musical set to debut on Oasis of the Seas, Royal Caribbean International’s online radio show is seeking the best “Hairspray Moment.” Listeners of Why Not Talk Cruise, hosted by Ken Muskat, vice president of Sales for the cruise line, can submit their funniest, most original and creative “Hairspray Moment” photo for a chance to win a grand prize of a two-night pre-inaugural cruise on Oasis of the Seas and round-trip coach airfare for two. The winner with the most ‘spray-tastic’ photo will be announced during the June 26, 2009, Why Not Talk Cruise show, which airs every Friday at 2 p.m. ET/11 a.m. PT on www.RoyalCaribbean.com/WhyNotTalkCruise.

Hairspray, the musical, is set to debut on Royal Caribbean International’s highly anticipated Oasis of the Seas when the ship sets sail from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. in December 2009. One of two productions to take place in the ship’s grand Opal Theater, Hairspray will open with a wide array of cruise industry firsts that the cruise line will debut with the launch of Oasis of the Seas and is another addition to the ship’s diverse entertainment offerings.

Contestants should send their photo (JPEG format, no larger than one megabyte in size) to whynottalkcruise@rccl.com. Entrants must include their full name, phone number, email address, age, and date of birth with their submission to qualify. Only one entry per person or email address will be accepted. Contest is only open to legal U.S. residents, 21 years of age and over. Entries must be received by 3:00 p.m. ET on May 31, 2009.

Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas will be the largest and most revolutionary cruise ships in the world when launched in December 2009 and December 2010, respectively. Architectural marvels at sea, both ships will span 16 decks, encompass 220,000 gross registered tons, carry 5,400 guests at double occupancy, and feature 2,700 staterooms. Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas will tout the cruise line’s new neighborhood concept of seven distinct themed areas, which include Central Park, Boardwalk, the Royal Promenade, the Pool and Sports Zone, Vitality at Sea Spa and Fitness Center, and Entertainment Place.
