Run with Bulls – Crystal Style

With a stylish twist, luxury specialist Crystal Cruises is offering guests the thrilling opportunity to participate in the annual Fiesta of San Fermin in Pamplona – known familiarly as the Running of the Bulls festival. From an exclusively reserved balcony directly above the action, Crystal guests will enjoy a prime location to cheer the legions of runners in the fast-paced, centuries-old event. Crystal is the only cruise line to offer the adventure –part of a four-day program including the sights and sounds of Madrid and Barcelona. The optional land package precedes Crystal Serenity’s July 16 voyage from Barcelona to Monte Carlo, Portofino, Florence, Rome, Sorrento, Dubrovnik and Venice.

“The ‘Running of the Bulls’ program is another example of how Crystal enables its guests to completely immerse themselves in high adventure with a world-famous event that is singularly distinct,” said John Stoll, director, land programs. “It’s designed to provide travelers with the ultimate adrenaline rush, involving guests in the excitement of the chase and festivities.”

The festival, honoring Pamplona’s Patron Saint, San Fermin, runs from July 7 to 14 annually, with thousands of people awaiting a rocket launch signaling the beginning of the bull run.

In addition to five-star accommodations, program highlights include a flamenco show in Madrid and walking tours of Barcelona, showcasing the works of Gaudí and the Gothic Quarter. The Running of the Bulls pre-cruise package starts $4,959 per person, double occupancy.

Cruise fares start at $6,055 per person, double occupancy, and feature an All Inclusive – As You Wish $1,000 per person shipboard spending credit to customize one’s cruise experience. The line’s Save Now, Save Later program allows guests booking their 2009 vacation by March 31 to save 20 percent on most 2010 cruises. Additionally, the Crystal Assurance Plan offers reduced deposits and cancellation periods, as well as the assurance that guests will be protected at the reduced fare if a stateroom category is later reduced.

Recently, Crystal Cruises was voted best cruise line and Crystal Serenity was voted best ship – large, medium, or small – in the world by the readers of Condé Nast Traveler magazine.
