Jewel River Status

It seems as if Jewel River Cruise Line, the venture formed by ex-Silversea Cruises CEO Albert Peter, will not be operating any time soon.

The company’s marketing office in Ft. Lauderdale has been shut down, according to a source associated with the line, and repeated calls to its Switzerland office by Cruise Industry News were not returned.

Jewel River had originally planned to launch service with five vessels in 2008, but that number was soon reduced to four. And it was later announced that Jewel River would only be selling cruises on one of the four ships it was slated to launch.
