Hurtigruten's Richard With ran aground while attempting to dock in Trondheim in the morning on Jan. 6. The company said in a prepared statement that strong westerly winds during the arrival pushed the ship off course. The grounding damaged a propeller and water was entering the ship through the propeller shaft seal. There were no passenger or crew injuries reported, but 153 passengers were brought ashore. The Richard With is expected to sail to Stavanger under is own power for repairs. The next sailing has also been cancelled, after which the ship is expected to be back in service.
The 11,205-ton Richard With was built in 1993 and can carry up to 691 passengers.
