Headland Media is launching its enhanced digital media news service on Celebrity Cruises’ new vessel, Celebrity Solstice. When Celebrity Solstice enters service on November 23, 2008, it will set a new standard in on-board entertainment, information and relaxation, and Headland Media is delighted to be providing the vessel with its industry-leading international news content, re-designed for screen display in the staterooms, through the on-board Interactive TV system.
The service, which is a specially-customised version of Headland Media’s Digital Media On-Board range, includes the provision of daily news items, incorporating general news, business and sports, in digital format and delivered electronically. Guests will be able to select news from eight key countries/regions in the relevant languages and then will be able to choose stories from each of the three categories by selecting a headline to display the full story.
Celebrity Solstice will complement the interactive news display service by also providing the multi-language newspapers to guests and the regular (non-interactive) screen-based news display service.
Celebrity Solstice will introduce an extraordinary new class of cruise ship to the world, with several ‘industry firsts,’ in addition to a completely customised and interactive news service for international guests. Celebrity executives say the combination and flexibility of news services from Headland Media will enable the line to offer guests the choice of a range of news options to best suit their own personal needs.
