Contracting Services from Deltamarin

Deltamarin’s one-stop Contracting Services were published at the SMM exhibition in Hamburg at the presence of invited representatives of marine industry and press.

This life-cycle service was launched at the request of our customers and to meet the growing market needs. It uniquely combines our high-quality engineering with cost-efficient construction or conversion support for the marine industry.

“We make it possible for our customers to take full advantage of the global market of shipbuilding capacity”, says Rami Hirsimäki, Director of this newly launched business area at Deltamarin.

Contracting services are intended for both Shipowners and Shipyards to manage complex newbuilding and conversion projects from concept to construction and operation.

The service supports Shipowners starting from the development of innovative, energy efficient and environmental-friendly concept through shipyard selection process to attractive building contract. Efficient project management, planning, engineering and material management are combined into predictable cost and delivery time. Well-planned operation start-up and efficient lifecycle support are provided.

Shipyards are assisted in addition to engineering services in improvement of their project management, planning, build strategy and processes. Especially shipyards aiming at new types of vessels with more added value and increased technical complexity, will gain from the full Contracting Services package.

Deltamarin’s first major Contracting Services reference is materialized in Höegh Autoliners PCTC (Pure Car Truck Carrier) project at Vinashin Nam Trieu Shipyard in Vietnam. Höegh Autoliners, one of the world’s leading operators of car carriers entered in strategic cooperation to build four vessels with further options securing a long term access to capacity and to meet their customers’ growing demand.

Senior Vice President Trym Otto Sjølie of Höegh Autoliners has stated, “In order to grow, we must be willing to invest in emerging shipbuilding markets like Vietnam”.
