Discovery Cruise Line Completes Routine Surveys and Repairs

Discovery Cruise Line, the largest tour operator to Grand Bahama Island sailing between Fort Lauderdale and Grand Bahama, announced that the Discovery Sun will complete its regular wet dock schedule on September 24 and will resume its normal sailing itinerary on September 25.

Hanns J. Hahn, General Manager of Discovery, said, “The wet dock schedule was for routine surveys and repairs, as well as to update some of the cabins and common areas.”  Hahn said, “The vessel remains in full compliance with pertinent IMO requirements and the U.S. C. G. interpretation of such requirements.”

Discovery sails every day except Wednesdays from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale to Grand Bahama Island, departing at 7:45 am and returning at 10 pm.  Discovery offers Fun Day cruises as well as cruise and stay vacation packages at most of the island’s hotels.
