India Reportedly Plans Four New Cruise Terminals

The government of India reportedly plans to initiate public/private partnerships to build new cruise terminals at four ports.

The new terminals would be constructed at Chennai, Mumbai, Goa and Kochi ports, said Shipping Secretary APVN Sarma, according to The Hindu newspaper Friday.

There were no details on construction schedules or costs mentioned in The Hindu’s article, but Tourism Secretary Shilabhadra is quoted as saying India has set a target of 10 million foreign-tourists arrivals by 2010, nearly double the 5.08 million arrivals in 2007.
