Star Cruises Brings Back Junior Cruiser Program on Virgo

Star Cruises today announced its so-called Junior Cruiser Program is back this winter on the SuperStar Virgo.

The program, including the characters Captain Charlie and Charlene, offers youth programming for junior cruisers through the Academy at Sea.

The first lesson in the Academy at Sea begins with Captain Charlie and Charlene’s Welcome Party. Throughout the cruise, each student learns to become a Junior Cruiser by experiencing a series of interactive and engaging learning activities, said Star, including a guided ship tour to learn about the daily operations of the crew and show their respect to the captain, and dining etiquette and table setting training.

There is also an entertainment program, inviting children to challenge themselves on stage, according to Star, in a prepared statement. Once a child completes a segment of the Academy, they receive a stamp, and once they reach eight stamps, are awarded a Junior Cruiser certification complete with a graduation ceremony.

As for the characters, Captain Charlie and Charlene are the company’s penguin mascots.

Captain Charlie’ mission is to teach children about our professional marine knowledge. Charlene is friendly and lively. Her approachable personality and passion for food symbolize warm Asian hospitality, said Star.
