Development Contracts Signed for New Star Ships

MV Werften, a group of Genting Hong Kong owned shipyards, has signed contracts for the basic design work on a pair of 201,000-ton Global-class newbuilds for Star Cruises with engineering partners Elomatic and Deltamarin. The ships will be delivered in 2019 and 2020, respectively.

“We are delighted to work together with Foreship, Elomatic and Deltamarin on a series of these innovative ships designed from the ground up for the Asian cruise market,” said Tan Sri KT Lim, Chairman of the Genting Group. “With Genting’s world-wide experience in the cruise and leisure sectors, Star Cruises’ ‘Global Class’ vessels will again set new industry standards in cruise ship design and provide a quantum leap in passenger satisfaction.”
