Crown Close to New Ship

Crown Cruise Line is in the process of selecting a yard to build a new 345-passenger ship. The selection has reportedly been narrowed down to Boelwerf of Belgium; Union Naval, Spain; Wartsila; and Aalborg. While the bids reportedly vary between 45 and 75 million dollars, the order will be placed with the yard that offers the most attractive financial package, according to the line.

It is reported that Boelwerf is offering financing at 2 percent over 17 years.

Oddmund Grunstad is the chairman of Crown Cruise Line, which markets the Viking Princess for Grundstad maritime Overseas of Boca Raton, the company that manages the ship. The 6,400-ton vessel is the former Ilmatar.
