Fuji Maru Update

The new Fuji Maru of Japanese Mitsui O.S.K. Lines will be making her maiden call in San Francisco on July 14. The 23,000-ton cruise ship, which was built by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, was launched in April of this year, and is designed for worldwide operations for primarily the Japanese market.

The 600-passenger Fuji Maru will be sailing eight cruises this year, making calls at Yokohama, Kobe, Hakodata and ports throughout Southeast Asia.

According to a statement from the company, the ship is sold out through next September, when she will be joined by an identical sister ship (1990).

Mitsui O.S.K Lines, headquartered in Tokyo, is the largest liner vessel operator in the world, owning a fleet of 59 ships, and operating a total fleet comprising 281 vessels totalling more than 11 million dwt.
