The International Council of Cruise Lines (ICCL) has launched what is essentially a grassroots lobbying eftort. It is aimed at better educating and mobilizing travel agents and former cruise passengers about industry issues being evaluated by Congress.
The ICCL is sending out faxes, mail or placing phone calls to its nationwide database to let people know “what is going through Congress that will affect us – and that could be both good as well as bad legislation,” said ICCL President John T. Estes.
Travel agents and former passengers are encouraged to write to their Congressman or woman.
