WCT Celebrates Kai Tak Ferry Pier Opening

Today marked the inaugural use of the renovated Kai Tak Ferry Pier, at the site of the former Kai Tak Airport fire station and near the new cruise port in Hong Kong.

A delegation including Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development Mr. Gregory So, the Hong Kong Tourism Board Executive Director Mr. Anthony Lau, Cunard Asia Pacific Executive Director Ms. Nancy Chung, and Cunard International General Manager Mr. Bob Dixon alighted from the HKTB’s iconic red-sailed junk the Duk Ling at approximately 10:00, on their way to ceremonies onboard the Queen Mary 2, in conjunction with Cunard’s “Three Queens in Town Party” event.

Jeff Bent, managing director of WCT, said, “I would like to commend the Hong Kong SAR government for renovating the landing steps of the historical and charming former Kai Tak Airport Fire Station into a public ferry pier. Cruise passengers and local visitors will greatly benefit from the convenience of both shore excursion programs via ferry, and regular scheduled ferry services to Kai Tak from North Point and Kwun Tong, which will commence in the coming weeks. We have received extremely positive feedback from the cruise lines about this development, and believe that the public will greatly benefit from this added convenience as well.”
