Song of Flower Sold

Radisson Seven Seas Cruises has sold the aging Song of Flower to Compagnie Des Iles Du Ponant, which operates the Le Ponant and the Le Levant. While no purchase price was announced, brokers speculated that the price was in the area of $8 to $10 million. The 176-passenger ship has previously suffered from noticeable vibrations in the dining room while sailing.

The French company plans to deploy the ship in the French market, under French flag.

The Song of Flower originally sailed as the Explorer Starship for Exploration Cruise Lines and had been converted in 1986 from a 1974-built trawler. She later sailed for Seven Seas Cruises before that company merged with Radisson Diamond Cruises.
