Ship Moves: Radisson Diamond to Leave, Other News

The Radisson Diamond will be leaving the Radisson Seven Seas Cruises (RSSC) fleet in June, as her Finnish owners have exercised their right to sell the ship, and RSSC opted out of its first right of refusal, according to RSSC President and CEO Mark Conroy.

RSSC had a long-term charter through 2006 and also extensive incentive business with the 350- passenger vessel.

According to Conroy, RSSC had a sold-out Mediterranean season of some 5,500 passengers aboard the Diamond and are refunding deposits and offering a $700 future cruise credit. RSSC will also provide travel agents with a $100 per-booking handling fee and will pay full commissions on any new bookings made for these clients in 2005 plus a $100 bonus commission.
