Royal Caribbean Touts 30 Percent Discounts

How flexible is Royal Caribbean International’s price integrity policy? The cruise line is pushing holiday cruise discounts and 30 percent off cruise bookings, per a recent promotional email, and also noted on the line’s website at www.RoyalCaribbean.com.

On the Q3 (2015) earning’s call, Chairman and CEO of Royal Caribbean Cruises, Richard Fain, said that: “Depending on the itinerary, we have internally banned any new discounts in the US and Canada in the last 10, 20, 30, or 40 days before the cruise starts. The program has been in place for seven months or so, and we have not granted a single exception to the policy.”

The cruise line is offering 30 percent off every ship and every sailing (although some restrictions apply) in its current promotion.

In the Caribbean, guests can receive up to $100 in onboard credits on the Oasis and Allure.

Europe cruises are being pushed with up to $1,000 in Air2Sea credits, while an Alaska CruiseTour Bonus promises up to $100 in onboard spending.

Finally, a holiday offer completes the promotion with 30 percent off holiday sailings between Dec. 15 and 31.
