Sydney Making Modest Port Improvements

Sydney will see 10 more calls this year as compared to last year, as the port continues to have a good problem: too many ships.

New arrivals for this coming season include the Pacific Eden and Aria, being transferred from Holland America Line to P&O Australia.

A major update of the port’s Overseas Passenger Terminal is set to be completed by the start of the season. The upgrades are to improve turnaround time, according to a statement from the port authority.

“New South Wales has responded to cruise industry needs by providing improved terminal capacity and efficiency with major investments made at the White Bay Cruise Terminal and now the Overseas Passenger Terminal,” according to a port spokesperson. “The New South Wales Government will continue working with the industry to meet challenges faced by the growing sector over the years to come.”
