Portuscale Cruises Cancels 2015 Summer Season

Lisbon-based Portuscale Cruises has cancelled its 2015 season of summer cruises on the 1961-built Funchal.  Passengers will get refunds as the two-year-old start-up operation was forced to scrub a Northern European deployment following cancelling April and May voyages late last year. The ship, however, did operate a winter season.

The line also operates the Azores (Athena) on a charter agreement, while a number of other vessels remain laid up in Lisbon including the 1955-built Lisboa and 1965-built Porto.
