Summer 2015 Thomson Cruises Shore-Ex Now on Sale

Thomson Cruises has announced what it calls its new  exciting, new summer 2015 shore excursion program, which is now on sale.

To take advantage of Thomson Celebration’s new summer 2015 home port of Dubrovnik, Thomson Cruises’ guests on any one of its four ‘adults only’ itineraries can enjoy both eye-line and sky-line panoramic views of the beautiful Croatian city on the Dubrovnik City Walk & Cable Car  tour. The highlights of which include touring the UNESCO-listed city and taking in Onofrio’s Fountains, a Franciscan Monastery, and the city’s 18th-century Baroque-style cathedral.

Another addition to the excursion program this summer is the Taste of Split tour, which offers guests the chance to get to know the ancient sights of Croatia’s second-largest city. Visitors can see first-hand the crumbling ruins and historical streets of this mystical city that was once ruled by the Roman Emperor Diocletian.

Thomson Cruises’ summer 2015 itineraries feature a number of new ports including Bozcaada (Turkey), Chios (Greece) and Bari (Italy) offering customers the chance to discover exciting new excursions including the legend of ‘Ancient Troy’ in Bozcaada. On this tour visitors can step back in time and see with their own eyes the ancient walls and ruins that inspired the Hollywood movie. Guests can take a look at a modern version of the ‘Wooden Horse’, used by the Greeks to trick the Trojans during the first ever war between the east and the west whilst gazing across the beautiful waters of the Dardanelles.

New for 2015, Thomson Cruises customers can also explore Chios Town, Greece and visit an ancient monastery and ghost village on the ‘Nea Moni Monastery & Anavatos Village’ excursion. The famous church here has gained a World Heritage label due to the breath-taking gold mosaics that coat its shimmering ceiling.

The summer season will also offer a new Enjoy Oceanographic tour, where visitors can explore life under the sea at Europe’s biggest aquarium in Valencia, Spain. The state-of-the-art surroundings mean 500 different underwater species can be found here including sharks, exotic fish, sea lions and much more.

To really get under the skin of a place, Thomson Cruises guests may also wish to book an exclusive Star Bikes tour. Each ship has a collection of mountain bikes on-board and at almost every port guests can join an experienced guide and cycle around the best sites.

Customers of Thomson Cruises can browse and book excursions online before leaving home, with selected advanced bookings offering fantastic savings compared to the on-board price. For extra flexibility, customers can also amend excursion bookings up to 24 hours before the tour departs.

Helen Caron, Managing Director of Thomson Cruises said, “For summer 2015 we’ve hand-picked unique and exciting excursions which we know our customers will enjoy. Due to the popularity of our excursions, we allow customers to plan ahead and book their excursions before travelling to ensure they don’t miss out.”
