The Guadeloupe Board of Tourism has announced that it has hired some 20 young people that has been training as guides and are being positioned at various destinations around the island, including the cruise ports and airport.
Three guides will be assigned to the main port of Pointe-a-Pitre. Easily recognizable in their green uniforms, they are responsible for welcoming passengers ashore. They started their training already this past summer and are bilingual – speaking French and English or French and Spanish.
The three cruise guides will also be recognized, receiving their training certificates, at the upcoming FCCA conference in St. Maarten.
