Eurodam Debuts New Dining Choices

Augmenting its elegant main dining room, the innovative Lido and the Pacific Northwest–themed Pinnacle Grill, the ms Eurodam will expand its dining choices to include restaurants featuring Asia and Italian cuisine, as well as a French-themed terrace grill.

New to Eurodam – set for launch in July – are three venues:  Tamarind, the Asian restaurant; Canaletto, the Italian restaurant and Slice, an all-day pizza outlet.   Each venue will feature a distinct ambiance and menus that reflect its regional theme.

“On any given evening, Eurodam guests will have marvelously diverse choices in dining,” noted Richard D. Meadows, CTC, executive vice president, marketing, sales and guest programs. “From our classic dining environments to our new contemporary themes, we take great pride in how we’ve expanded the venues and the menus for the Eurodam to offer nice venue choices.”

Tamarind will be a reservations-only with a capacity of 144 diners.  The Silk Den, a new lounge adjacent to Tamarind, will overlook the magradome, offering guests a view of a new, colorful poolside water feature.

Master Chef Rudi Sodamin has created a variety of Asian-inspired entrees for Tamarind, including: Sea Bass with a Hoisin-Lime Glaze; Baked Snapper in Rice Paper; Wasabi Soy Crusted Beef Tenderloin Steak; Steamed Lobster with Garlic, Ginger and Chili; Shrimp Szechuan with Thai Basil; Roasted Peking Duck; and Red Curry Coconut Chicken.  Vegetarian dishes include: Sesame Udon Noodles; Grilled Seitan and Vegetable Penang; and Vietnamese Cabbage Rolls.

Canaletto comes to life for dinner when a section of the Lido restaurant is transformed each evening into the Italian restaurant. Although reservations will be encouraged for this casual dining venue, walk-ups will be accepted. Canaletto will have a capacity of 72. Guests who want a daytime taste of Italy can indulge their tastes at Slice, the new pizzeria, just aft of the pool that will serve pizza during the day.

Eurodam’s Rembrandt dining room, with a menu that ranges from steak and lobster to vegetarian to entrées from the region of the itinerary, will take on a new look.  Guests will marvel at the dining room ceiling with its “wave effect” that can be lit with different colors.”

As You Wish dining on Eurodam allows guests to choose from the best of both worlds – either traditional pre-set seating and dining times, or a completely flexible dining schedule.  Guests with flexible seating may make reservations daily during a cruise up to 4 p.m. or simply walk up anytime during dining hours.

In addition to As You Wish dining options in the main dining room, Holland America Line features the reservations-only Pinnacle Grill featuring Pacific Northwest specialties including selected cuts of Sterling Silver beef and superb seafood items, as well as carefully selected wines from renowned Pacific Northwest vineyards.  Open for dinner only by reservation, guests pay a modest surcharge of $30 per person for dinner and $15 for lunch.

Also, at dinner time, the Lido features waiter service for guests who desire a more casual, yet still outstanding dining experience. Guests have the option to select dishes from the Main Dining Room menu or regular Lido offerings.  And complimentary room service is available 24/7, including ordering dinner dishes from the Main Dining Room menu during dining hours.

Eurodam Advances Premium Offerings
With one more deck than Holland America Line’s 10-deck Vista-class ships, the Signature-class Eurodam will feature three alternative dining venues, including a new pan-Asian restaurant with panoramic views. The Explorations Café – powered by The New York Times – will be located on deck 11 on the starboard side of the Crow’s Nest.  Other additions are an Explorer’s Lounge Bar, a new specialty restaurant adjacent to the Lido offering fine Italian food, new atrium bar area, and an enhanced and reconfigured show lounge with theater-style seating.

Staterooms and suites on Eurodam will introduce an inspired and a distinctly different décor and will include new exclusive, spa-themed and scalloped verandah categories.  Staterooms also will feature Signature of Excellence premium amenities:  plush Euro-top Mariner’s Dream beds, deluxe waffle/terry cloth robes, Egyptian cotton towels, flat panel televisions, DVD players, make-up mirrors with halo lighting, massage shower heads, professional grade hair dryers, fresh flowers and complimentary fruit baskets.

Following its maiden voyage to the Baltic and inaugural Europe season, the ship will sail its first trans-Atlantic cruise, followed by a series of Canada/New England sailings in the fall before deploying on Caribbean itineraries for the remainder of 2008.
