Disney Commits Two New Ships to Port Canaveral

According to Florida Today, Disney Cruise Line will homeport both of its new 112,000-ton ships in Port Canaveral starting in 2011. In addition, Royal Caribbean International has signed a letter of intent to sail the Freedom of the Seas from Port Canaveral.

Disney will put both of its new ships in Port Canaveral in 2011 and 2012 and will pick up the $22 million cost for improvements to its land-side terminal at the port and construction of a new parking garage, according to Florida Today reporter Donna Balancia.
