Intercruises Shoreside & Port Services Further Bolsters North American Market

Intercruises Shoreside & Port Services, one of the world’s leading ground handler partners serving the cruise industry, has just added new destinations in the USA as well as Canada by acquiring Destination Florida-New England Inc. (DFL) and Destination Canada New England (DCNE).

Intercruises has identified North America as strategically important not only as a stand alone market opportunity, but also as a key component to position Intercruises as a truly global, one-stop-shop for shore side services.  DFL and DCNE have an excellent reputation and an impressive depth of experience. These successful businesses share the same values of Intercruises Shoreside & Port Services, which now will have immediate presence in the North American market from Bar Harbor, Maine to Miami, Florida as well as key ports along the St. Lawrence Waterway in Canada from Montreal and Quebec to Baie Comeau, setting the stage for further expansion in the USA and Canada.

Commenting on the acquisition Mark Robinson, Managing Director of Intercruises said: “Having recently acquired Cruise Link II, and now adding Destination Florida and Destination Canada New England to our group which are already well established companies with an excellent reputation for high service and delivery standards, we have achieved a significant foothold into the North American cruise handling business. The USA and Canadian cruise markets are key for us to grow as a leading ground handler & port agent and now we can affirm that our position there is more consolidated with this acquisition.”

Destination Canada New England (DCNE) is a company specializing in ground handler and shore excursion services for the majority of the worlds leading cruise lines. In Canada they operate in Montreal, Quebec City, Saguenay, Baie-Comeau, Sept-Iles, Havre St-Pierre, and Gaspe.  In the US, they operate in Bar Harbor ME, Portland ME, Rockland ME, Gloucester MA, Boston MA, Newport RI, New London CT, Baltimore MD, Philadelphia PA. Their sister company Destination Florida (DFL) offers receptive services for cruise lines in Miami, Ft Lauderdale and Tampa.  With a head office in Miami, satellite offices in Boston, Portland and Quebec City, a team of 12 full time employees, 500 part time pier/airport and meet/greet/check in agents, and 250 Tour Guides, DCNE / DFL have an excellent reputation in the industry that has been developed over the past eight years with strong long term relationships with suppliers and customers as well as local and government authorities.

Tina Spencer, former owner and current President of Destination Florida New England said: “We have developed a successful business and strong reputation for high quality services over the years and now we will be able to leverage them by being part of a much larger group. It is a very exciting time for all of us and we look forward to going from strength to strength and to increase and develop our presence and business into other destinations within the North American Market”.

Intercruises is experiencing strong expansion worldwide. Intercruises started its expansion into Asia last July, one year after Intercruises’ parent company Hotelbeds acquired the Pacific World Network, one of Asia’s leading inbound travel management companies.
